Canadian artist Patrick Michel has taught art at the high school and collegiate levels in Montréal for over 30 years. His artistic production has ranged from abstract color-field oils and mixed media to photo realist portraits in pencil on paper. In recent years, he has been creating lamps from found objects.
Over the years, Pat has embraced the concept of sight/specific work, that is the idea of melding a second party’s specifications to the eventual piece.
Ideas concerning format, color and even subject matter are open to interpretation even during the production of the work.
